OAKLAND – Kevin Durant left midway through the fourth quarter of the Warriors’ 115-111 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday at Oracle Arena because of a right ankle contusion. But Warriors coach Steve Kerr did not sense the injury will be serious.
“I think he’s going to be all right,” Kerr said afterwards. “I don’t think it’s bad. I talked to him briefly. He didn’t think it was too bad.”
Durant landed awkwardly on his right ankle after attempting to throw the ball through a double team. He stayed on the floor, but eventually stood up on his own. Durant then walked to the locker room without needing any assistance with 6:34 left in the game.

Durant, who had 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting, also felt pain in his right ankle after landing awkwardly during last week’s win in Philadelphia. But Durant remained in that game and reported no issues afterwards.
Given the Warriors’ optimism stayed the same, would Durant need to have an MRI?
“No MRI. I don’t think so,” Kerr said. “But I don’t know at this point.”
