The Pleasanton-based Stanford East Bay Oncology department held a Halloween party to encourage not only their patients, but also to pay tribute to area firefighters. The staff dressed as firefighters, and a vintage 1948 fire truck, once owned by former Livermore – Pleasanton Fire Department Captain Joshua Gatkin, was on display during the event.
A memorial firehose was also available for people to write words of encouragement on or for them to honor those lost to cancer.
