Paul Simon will perform in front of tens of thousands of fans when he headlines the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival on Aug. 11 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
But the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer-songwriter also will “Pop Up” in a more intimate setting during his stay in the Bay Area.
He’ll visit the Fox Theater in Oakland at 8 p.m. Aug. 9 — which is also the day that the three-day Outside Lands festival kicks off.
The concert is being described as “a very special Outside Lands Pop-Up Show” and, fittingly, festival ticket holders will have the first opportunity to buy tickets, which are going for $68.50-$128.50. The Outside Lands presale for “An Evening With Paul Simon” begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 1.
Whatever tickets remain will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Aug. 2.
