Letter: Who thinks this is a good time to go to war with Iran?

Thank you, Congress, for passing an Iran war resolution stating that only Congress the power to declare war

Who thinks this is a good
time to go to war with Iran?

Re: “Trump vetoes Iran war resolution” (Page A4, May 7):

War with Iran? Raise your hand if you think this is a good time for the president to take us to war with Iran. Right now, in the midst of a world-wide pandemic when thousands of people are dying. Now, in this time of unprecedented economic woes.

Congress, to its credit, passed an Iran war resolution stating that the Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war. Thank you, Congress.

Of course, the president vetoed it, saying it was “insulting” to the presidency. So much for his earlier promise to avoid endless wars.

What can we do to stop this craziness?

Let us thank our members of Congress for passing the resolution, and urge them to do it again and again and again. We can shout out that we, the people, do not want war with Iran.
