Anthony Jesse Collins, a former Dewey Academy student who graduated last spring, and Patrice Treadwell, who graduated a year earlier from Rudsdale High School, were married by Academy principal and ordained minister Darrell Ross during a ceremony on the school campus in Oakland. The couple chose to get married sooner than they had planned because Treadwell plans to enlist in the United States Marine Corps and the family wants to ensure family benefits. The ceremony and reception was largely made possible by donations from academy staff.
