Through the magic of videotape we take you back to June 17 of last year, where NFL Network analyst Adam Rank is sizing up the 2019 San Francisco 49ers.

He’s thinking 3-13 is about right.

“I have a lot of faith in Jimmy Garoppolo,” Rank says charitably. “I think there are some nice pieces defensively. But there are a lot of tough games, including the Browns.”

(Editor’s note: AH, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

Now we return you to Tuesday, where Rank, who has been wearing the cloak of shame pretty much all season long, is taking his medicine like a man.

“I think that anybody in the Bay Area knows that I’m an idiot,” Rank said Wednesday during an interview on 95.7 The Game. “I think that we could all at least find some common ground. And I do believe this week, up against that 49ers defense, as long as Dee Ford is playing and everybody’s healthy and ready to go, we are going to see the vintage Kirk Cousins.

“I know that I’d like to give the 49ers fans some reassurance by not picking them, but I feel so confident in them I don’t know how you can’t.”

Not only has Rank acknowledged his prognosticative shortcomings, he is a true convert who expects the 49ers to land in the Super Bowl.

“I’m going to say the Chiefs end upsetting the Ravens in the AFC championship. I would pick the 49ers to just march and, especially if the 49ers are playing the Packers in the NFC championship game, no way Green Bay wins that one. I would think that San Francisco and Kansas City. That’s the Super Bowl I think we’re going to see.”
