[scribble src=”/livescoreboard/8978″ /]We’ve got live scoring updates, news and analysis from the Raiders’ preseason game against the Rams in Los Angeles on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Since Oakland will open the regular season against the Rams on Sept. 10, both teams will play things close to the vest on Saturday, which will likely make for a game lacking play-calling creativity. In addition, don’t expect to see many Raiders or Rams starters in action for too long in Week 2 of the preseason.
Still, there’s plenty of intrigue for Raiders fans, who should get their first extended look at starting cornerback Gareon Conley, last year’s No. 1 pick who finally seems healthy and ready to contribute. Also, exciting rookie defensive lineman Arden Key bears watching.
Former Cal quarterback Jared Goff may see a little time for the Rams, who likely won’t utilize Todd Gurley, the league’s most exciting running back.
However meaningless Saturday’s game will be, new Raiders coach Jon Gruden will get his first chance to square off against one of his former assistant coaches, Rams head coach Sean McVay.
