Thanks to retiring writer Ginny Prior for her work

Re: “Town Crier: Farewell, faithful readers, you made this column possible: Time for Town Crier to retire after nearly 20 years penning musings in Montclair” (Eastbaytimes.com, Oct. 24):

I am really sad Ginny Prior’s column will no longer appear in the Montclarion. It was one of the few truly local regular items, and I always looked forward to reading about the this-and-thats of our neighborhoods here in the Oakland hills.

Because most items were relatively quick mentions, she was able to pack a lot of stuff in — items which didn’t necessarily need an entire news article but were important or interesting to those of us who live here. It was local local local instead of regional, or worse yet, generic.

Thanks to Ginny Prior for her fine work and for being such a great neighbor here in the hills. I already miss her column!
