Terror Vault, the new immersive Halloween event running Oct. 10 to Nov. 3 at the San Francisco Mint, has been billed as the most frightening haunted attraction to hit the Bay Area this fall. It’s a combination of theater, haunted mazes, escape rooms, special effects — and cocktails, too.

We’re still grappling with the philosophy behind the Terror Vault bar. Are the drinks supposed to calm your nerves or turn you into one of the zombies? Still, we took a peek at the boozy lineup and one thing is clear: Cocktails have never sounded so spooktacularly hilarious.

The Bat Boy Guano, for example, serves up bourbon, Creme de Cacao, turbinado sugar and orange bitters over ice. (We’re hoping we don’t have to drink it while hanging upside down.) The Crime de Mint — kudos to whoever came up with that excellent double pun for excellent puns — combines vodka, Midori, Creme de Menthe and fresh lime, while the Zombie Puss is a mix of gin, coconut cream, lime, mint and Angostura bitters.

The rum-based Poppy’s Poppin’ Punch is made with  rosemary, sweet vermouth and orange juice. And the Terror Vault’s Tina’s Mist cocktail is made with tequila, dragon fruit, lemon and honey, topped with soda.

You’ll still feel terrified, of course, but refreshed, too.
