The hottest temperatures so far this year in the Bay Area are expected Tuesday with some inland cities forecast to surpass 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Concord, Livermore, Morgan Hill, Gilroy and some locations in South San Jose could all soar above 90 degrees, according to the weather service. Concord is forecast to reach 95 degrees.

“A few far interior locations may even approach 100 degrees,” meteorologists with the weather service wrote in their Tuesday morning forecast. “Not expecting any records today, but it will likely be the hottest day so far this season.”

Forecast highs around the Bay Area on Tuesday also include Palo Alto at 82 degrees, Oakland at 78 degrees and San Francisco at 73.

Although some locations in South San Jose could flirt with 90 degrees, the city is not officially expected to be that hot, according to the weather service. The city’s official weather station is at the airport, where the temperature is forecast to reach 88 degrees.

The last time San Jose officially reached 90 degrees was Sept. 20, 2018. San Jose did not reach 80 degrees in May, and hit 89 on April 24, according to data from the weather service.

Similar conditions are expected Wednesday before a cooling trend Thursday and Friday, with temperatures dropping back down to the 60s and 70s, according to the weather service.

Another round of hot weather is expected Sunday, with temperatures possibly soaring even higher that Tuesday and Wednesday.

“Stay tuned,” the weather service wrote in its forecast discussion.
