Los Angeles police are searching for a mother and her three children who disappeared last week from their home. The father of two of the children is also being sought, as a suspect in the apparent kidnapping.
On Wednesday, October 9, police were alerted to the disappearance of the family from their home in Sylmar, at the north end of the San Fernando Valley. Missing are Liliana Lopez, 29, and her children, Jakob Cabrera, 9, Steven Matthew Lopez, 6, and Stephana Lopez, 5. The family dog, a Great Dane, is also missing.

The suspect was identified as Esteban Lopez, 28. He and Liliana Lopez had been married, and he is believed to be the father of the two younger children, police say. He was not living in the Sylmar home. Neighbors told KABC-TV that he was partying on Saturday night with friends.
The home of the woman and children, on Fellows Avenue, is three blocks from the burn zone of the Saddleridge Fire, which started on October 10.
An Amber Alert has not been issued in the disappearance.
Police have found one of the cars associated with the family, a 2007 Lexus. They did not reveal where it had been found. They are asking the public to report any sightings of another vehicle, a white 1996 Chevy Tahoe with black rims and California license plate 3RSR716.
Information can be reported to the police at 213-486-6840 or at the anonymous line, 800-222-8477.
