Always wanted to hear true stories from people who lived and worked on Alcatraz? This is your last chance.
Alcatraz Alumni have been gathering to celebrate their bonds and reminisce about life on The Rock, and this year marks the last time for this tradition. In commemoration, Alcatraz Cruises is issuing a limited number of tickets for Bay Area residents who want to attend the last Alcatraz Alumni gathering on Aug. 12.
In addition to the Day Tour and transport between Pier 33 and Alcatraz Island, guests will have the opportunity to hear first-hand stories from former guards, including Jim Albright, prisoners, including Bill Baker, and residents that lived on Alcatraz Island.
The Alcatraz fire engine will be on display at the dock and there will be an alumni slideshow presentation in the New Industries Building in addition to a Q&A with the alumni by Building 64. Tickets for this morning excursion can be purchased (beginning at 10 a.m. on Aug. 10) here.
