A Walnut Creek man who had been reported missing two weeks ago was arrested Monday after he jumped a security barrier at the White House, according to the Secret Service.

Alexander Miner, 29, allegedly traveled to the East Coast to confront a Virginia woman he had been cyberstalking for 11 years, claiming to be a friend from high school. He was reported missing in early June by a family member who described him as a former Marine who was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

The incident was caught on a low-quality video taken by a tourist.

During his arrest, Miner allegedly told a federal agent that he wanted to slap or punch President Donald Trump in the face and “make him cry like a (expletive).” Miner also said he had received orders from God, claimed Trump had harassed him through campaign emails and asserted that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were child molesters, according to court records.

Miner will undergo a mental health evaluation, according to federal authorities. He has been charged with attempted burglary and entering and remaining on restricted grounds without authority, both federal offenses.

Before his trip to Virginia, Miner had been living at a residence on Anne Court in Walnut Creek, according to public records. His landlord reported that Miner went missing in May, and his father told police that he was afraid his son had “gone off the deep end” and may be a paranoid schizophrenic, according to the complaint.

The investigation led police to a Virginia woman who told them that Miner had contacted her 11 years ago on Myspace, claiming to be an old friend, but she said she didn’t recognize him. The woman said he told her he was lonely and at war, so she briefly exchanged messages with him but stopped responding. In 2012, he contacted her again on Facebook, police said.

Police in Walnut Creek and Virginia investigated the reports and found that on June 4, Miner had turned up at a Virginia woman’s door looking for her. She called police and told him to leave, according to police.

The next day, 200 messages from Miner showed up in her Facebook inbox. They said he would flay her alive, rape her “across the coals of hell” and “rip her from limb to limb,” according to court records.

Police found that Miner had been contacted by a Chesterfield County officer weeks earlier on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing and peeping, after he’d gone to the same Virginia residence twice. There, he claimed to be looking for a different woman and allegedly said he wanted to kill her, police said.
