Airbnb rentals can net you some terrific deals in spendy cities where hotel costs soar. But it all depends on where you are — and when.
Bloomberg recently released its annual index of Airbnb rental tabs to determine which 20 cities are the most expensive. Of course, these are averages, so your experience will vary by season, specifics and demand. (Palm Springs and Palm Desert during Coachella? Those Airbnb rates are stratospheric.)
Miami topped the Bloomberg’s list of spendiest Airbnb destinations, and five other U.S. cities were included on the list, as well. San Francisco came in at No. 8, for example, above even New York City, which was No. 13. And some of these places on the top 20 — Dubai and Singapore, for example — share two traits: They’re popular tourist destinations and they’re expensive cities for their residents, too.
Here’s just a taste. Find the rest of the list and Bloomberg’s analysis at www.bloomberg.com.
