It’s almost time to eat 4505’s Meats’ Best Damn Cheeseburger while watching Janet Jackson live at Golden Gate Park. Or maybe we’ll go for Itani Ramen’s Furikake Waffle Fries. Or Petit Marlowe’s Truffled Brie Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.
Eleven years ago, Outside Lands led the way as the first multi-day music festival to make gourmet food, wine and beer as integral an experience as the musical lineup itself.
This year, festival organizers are outdoing themselves, offering an unprecedented 200 menu options found within seven food experiences, from Wine Lands and Cheese Lands to A Taste of the Bay Area, Beer Lands, Outside Clams, GastroMagic and Cocktail Magic.
Outside Lands, which takes place Aug. 10-12 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, will offer 83 restaurants within A Taste of the Bay Area alone, including 18 new eateries, like the Mission District’s Son’s Addition and Thai-Laotian favorite Hawker Fare, as well as Cassava and Powder, which will bring its Taiwanese shaved snow to keep you cool.
VIP? You get to experience some pretty serious food from the likes of Petite Marlowe, A16 and Ayesha Curry’s International Smoke. And yes, the famous Global Gourmet will return to VIP as well.
Thirty breweries and 41 wineries (uncorking a whopping 120 wines) will be pouring their fermented beverages for your sipping pleasure, as well. Newcomers include Old Kan, Holy Craft and Seismic in addition to Orin Swift, Ashes & Diamonds and rosé specialist Lorenza Wine Co., which is good, because summer festivals require a surplus of pink wine.
