BottleRock Napa Valley came to another triumphant close on Sunday (May 26), having drawn some 120,000 to the sold-out three-day festival over Memorial Day weekend.
Here’s a look back, through sights and sounds, of some of the marquee moments of the 2019 BottleRock. Oh, and mark your calendars — the dates for the 2020 BottleRock are May 22-24.
Day One
Imagine Dragons were the JaM Cellars main stage headliners on opening day, drawing a huge crowd to listen to their radio-friendly rock-pop tunes. The crowd definitely dug the band, but we thought that the Dandy Warhols, Jenny Lewis, Logic and some others turned in more interesting performances that day.
And we were left scratching our heads over whether Imagine Dragons front man Dan Reynolds might actually think that BottleRock Nap Valley was located in Los Angeles.

Over on the Williams Sonoma Culinary Stage — which was hosted by “Foodie Chap” Liam Mayclem all weekend — celebrated “Iron Chef” Masaharu Morimoto set a new world record.
Day Two
Neil Young headlined the big main stage on Saturday, making his long-awaited first performance in Northern California since the last Bridge School Benefit at Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View in 2016.
Young and his great backing band, Promise of the Real, sounded great. They also ran up against the festival’s curfew, so organizers pulled the plug on their set — but Young just kept rocking on.

One of my favorite acts of the entire weekend appeared early in the day on Saturday. I’m talking about the Regrettes, which delivered a great set of exuberant punk for listeners.

Unfortunately, there was also a startling moment for some fans on Saturday, when a disturbance at the Madison Beer set drew the Napa Police.
Oh, and the top-selling country artist of all time was also spotted on Saturday at BottleRock.

Day Three
There was so much going on during Day Three of the festival. Yes, Mumford and Sons headlined the big main stage on Sunday. But you also had Santana and Big Boi working other stages at the exact same time.
Alice Cooper made an attempt at setting a new world record. But it didn’t quite turn out as hoped.

Also, there was talk of a “Game of Thrones” star making an appearance.
