PIEDMONT

The city of Piedmont will start its paving project on or around July 1. Work related to the removal of 18 designated trees on Magnolia Avenue will be the first order of business. Residents were informed of the process, and objections resulted in fewer trees being removed. Work will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. with “No Parking” signs posted in the areas of work. Control personnel will be on duty for those who need to come and go. Expect some noise and dust during the work. For questions, contact Public Works Director Chester Nakahara at 510-420-3061 or cnakahara@piedmont.ca.gov.

Safety fencing being installed at Dracena Park quarry

The city of Piedmont is installing safety fencing at the Dracena Park quarry through June 28. The quarry will be closed for public use between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. with barricades and signage in place. The tot lot and other areas of the park will remain open to all while the quarry area is closed. The city will reserve needed parking spaces for the contractor at the end of Artuna Avenue during the work. For any questions, again contact Nakahara at 510-420-3061.
