Christina Aguilera is finally back on the road again.
The multiplatinum pop star, known for such hit singles as “Genie in a Bottle,” “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You),” “Dirrty,” “Fighter,” “Ain’t No Other Man” and “Hurt,” has embarked on her first concert tour in more than a decade.
As hard as it may be to believe, Aguilera’s last road show was in 2006-07: the lengthy Back to Basics Tour, which included a stop at Oakland’s Oracle Arena in March 2007.
Aguilera is returning to Oakland with her highly anticipated new trek, the Liberation Tour, for an Oct. 22 performance at the Paramount Theatre. That’s a very intimate setting for a multiplatinum talent accustomed to filling big arenas.
Aguilera returns to the road in support of her eighth studio album, “Liberation,” which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 in June.
Opening the show is hip-hop star Big Boi, who is best known for his work with Andre 3000 in Outkast.
Details: 8 p.m.; $69.50-$199.50, www.livenation.com.
