SAN ANTONIO — Despite Warriors center JaVale McGee participating in morning shootaround, the Warriors are still listing him as questionable to play in Game 3 of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday because of a left quad contusion.
“He’s still pretty sore, so we’ll see,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “We’ll get some more treatment and will come back and warm up this afternoon.”
McGee suffered the injury during the Warriors’ Game 2 win over the Spurs. If McGee sits, it appears likely Kerr would start veteran Zaza Pachulia to counter the Spurs’ size in LaMarcus Aldridge, Kyle Anderson and Pau Gasol. The Warriors also have other frontcourt options, including Kevon Looney, David West and Jordan Bell.
