We know that California is a long way away from Las Vegas, especially if you are walking.
Yet, they still teach geography in Nevada schools, right?
So, how come the Imagine Dragons front man Dan Reynolds seems to think that BottleRock Napa Valley is actually located in Los Angeles?
Yes, the Las Vegas native made that goof during his band’s headlining set on Day One (Friday, May 24) at the festival, which is located roughly 400 miles north of Los Angeles.
He was reminiscing about the old days, noting that he was seeing some familiar faces in the crowd, ones who might have seen the band back when they were still playing small clubs “here in L.A.”
And the mistake wasn’t just heard by the BottleRock crowd. It also was apparently broadcast over SiriusXM.
I just heard this on the SiriusXM broadcast and I was hoping I misheard it. https://t.co/nGhfVXVAbO

Whoops!
Of course, we get it. The band tours a bunch and it’s hard to tell one Ritz Carlton from the next, right?
Yet, referring to this area as “L.A.” is a big no-no, given how many Northern California people seem to take great regional pride in scorning anything south of, say, San Luis Obispo.
Now mind you, I don’t share that perspective. Pretty much the whole state of California — from Humboldt and Hayward to Hollywood and Huntington Beach and beyond — is pretty awesome in my book.
But others clearly disagree (most likely those who’ve never eaten at Pink’s Hot Dogs). So, Reynolds might want to brush up on his geography before he visits Northern California again.
BottleRock Napa Valley (which is located in Napa in Northern California) continues through May 26.
Imagine Dragons next perform June 2 in Florence, Italy (also not in Los Angeles).
