STEM grant

The U.S. Department of Education gifted San Jose City College a $2.9 million grant to help support and retain Latinx students. The money will go toward the school’s new Ganas Project, which will help guide first year students into STEM and teaching careers.

Traffic court jam

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, county courts are experiencing a new kind of traffic jam. All traffic court hearings at the Santa Clara Courthouse and South County Courthouse have been postponed through the end of the year. County officials are posting updated court closures and postponed trial dates at www.scscourt.org.

Free COVID-19 testing

Every Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) is providing free COVID-19 testing for South Bay residents. The testing is available on a walk-in basis only for asymptomatic residents, and insurance is not required. The testing will take place at 749 Story Road. For more information, call 408-975-2763.
