Metallica and Janet Jackson — two of the planet’s most popular music acts — will be performing in the heart of San Francisco on Sept. 26.
The metal titans and the R&B/pop star are providing musical entertainment for the Ninth Annual Concert for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.
Metallica will set up outside and perform its set at the San Francisco Civic Center Plaza, while Janet Jackson will play inside the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
What an impressive bill, right?
Metallica has reportedly sold over 120 million albums worldwide.
And Jackson’s numbers are even bigger, having reportedly sold more than 160 million records worldwide.
The concert is held in conjunction with the mammoth Dreamforce conference, presented by Salesforce. And the audience will consist of thousands of Dreamforce attendees, grooving to Jackson and Metallica and feeling fortunate that they signed up for this conference.
Others can also attend the show, but tickets aren’t cheap — starting at $1,000. But the money definitely goes to a good cause — UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.

Following the Metallica set, the Bay Area’s own MC Hammer and DJ Rob Garza will entertain at an after-party at City Hall.
