Some years just flat-out deserve to be laughed at. And we’re not talking about a warm chuckle or a good-natured snort, but an angry, derisive, indelicate sneer.
Fortunately, San Francisco comedian Will Durst feels that way about pretty much every year. And so once again he has assembled a group of like-minded, politically oriented yukmeisters and is touring the Bay Area with the Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show.
This is the tour’s 26th consecutive year, but it’s hard to think of a time when blowing off steam with comedy seemed more necessary or inviting. At least not since last year.
Durst, one of the finest political comedians going (and, yes, his views lean to the left), will be performing with a stable of able comedians — many of them regulars of this tour: Johnny Steele, Debi Durst and Michael Bossier, Mari Magaloni and Arthur Gaus.
Details: Jan. 3 in Alameda, Jan. 4 in Sonoma, Jan. 5 in and Jan. 6 in San Francisco; $20-$60; willdurst.com.
