WARRIORS UPDATE: The Warriors’ fifth and final preseason game is also their fourth against the Lakers, who manhandled them twice in L.A. this week. Golden State has had big-time issues with defensive rebounding as well as its perimeter defense. … The Warriors are waiving forward Alfonzo McKinnie, according to reports Friday. This will clear space on the roster for center Marquese Chriss, who has been the biggest surprise in camp. Chriss’ emergence is reminiscent of the trek JaVale McGee took on his way back to NBA relevance — the current Lakers center came to Warriors camp on a tryout basis and flourished from there. … Stephen Curry, who sat out Wednesday’s loss, is likely to return and play a few minutes. … D’Angelo Russell led the Warriors in scoring Wednesday with 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting, including three 3-pointers.
LAKERS UPDATE: The Lakers open their season on Tuesday against the Clippers and aren’t likely to play many regulars for too long Friday. … Former Warrior Quinn Cook, who burned his old team with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting Wednesday, should get a nice reception from the crowd at Chase. … Point guard Rajon Rondo, who has sat out the past two games to rest, could see a few minutes.
