Cats already have a well-earned reputation for breaking the Internet with cute and curious videos, but it seems their photos are darned popular, too.

Compare the Market, a British company that provides online price comparisons for pet, car and home insurance, trolled Instagram looking for cat hashtags and photos. The aim was to find the most popular cat breeds in the world.

Researchers used a list of cat breeds, then searched for the three most used hashtags for each, using only those hashtags that are predominantly used to tag the cat breed. All hashtag counts are correct as of July.
