Milpitas High School’s varsity football team (10-0, 6-0) completed a perfect regular season with a 45-7 rout of the Homestead High Mustangs on Friday.

Kelly King, Milpitas High’s football coach, said the team tried to stay focused on the task on game night.

“We have also developed standards of play which we continually try to elevate,” King told the Post via email on Monday.

He added the team has a bye this week and will find out this Sunday the playoff brackets for CCS Open Division I playoffs. In the meantime, King said the team would largely do one thing.

“We will be focusing on our fundamentals,” he added.
