If you’re Beyonce and Jay-Z, having one infinity pool at your new hilltop $88 million Bel Air estate is definitely not enough. Even two or three swimming pools — those numbers are more suitable to the routinely rich and famous.
But even as music’s most powerful couple, worth a combined $1 billion or more, Beyonce and Jay-Z have found that the installation of a fourth outdoor swimming pool on the two-acre grounds of their ultra-modern mega-mansion has come with hassles.
Actually, the hassles over the $454,000 pool project predate their purchase of the property in August, according to the website The Blast.

Documents show that the pool company, Pool & Spa Builders entered into an agreement with the previous owner, Cuesta Estate LLC, to install the pool which also comes with an attached spa. But Pool & Spa claims that Cuesta refused to pay their bill for $87,729.92, so they filed a construction lien on the property and may actually try to force it into foreclosure.
Poor Mr. and Mrs. Carter: They had barely unpacked all their boxes and gotten their stuff put away in all their bedrooms and private gym and media room when they got caught up in the middle of this pool fight. Of course, it’s likely that these super rich new homeowners will take care of this pesky pool issue before the fight goes too far in court.
The couple set a record this year when they purchased the sprawling 30,000-square-foot showplace, which comprises six structures and comes with a helipad, full basketball court and panoramic views.
The Los Angeles Times said that the purchase was the highest recorded this year in Los Angeles County, besting the $85-million sale of David Geffen’s compound in Malibu. It will also tie last year’s sale of the historic Owlwood estate in Holmby Hills, once owned by Tony Curtis and Sonny and Cher, among others, for the third-most expensive historically in the L.A. area.
