OAKLAND — A 35-year-old man survived a shooting Saturday in East Oakland, police said.

The gunfire rang out around 9:15 p.m. as the man drove his car in the 10500 block of Topanga Drive in the Sobrante Park neighborhood, police said. He drove to a hospital and did not have life-threatening injuries, police said.

The man told officers he dropped off someone at a residence and was driving away, police said.

Police did not identify any suspects, and they don’t have a motive.
