Steve Kerr has been on record with his ambivalence about a potential visit to the Trump White House. That is, if an invitation even materializes for the world champs.

If it does, there are at least 50,000 petitioners who say that Kerr & Co. should just say no. San Francisco-based social change network CREDO Action has that many signatures for a campaign titled “No Warriors at the White House: Golden State must reject Trump’s hate.”

CREDO’s general thesis about the champs: “Now, the Warriors have a chance to make history off the court. When racist bigot Donald Trump invites the 2017 NBA champions to the White House, not one Golden State Warrior should be there.”

Kerr has stirred the social and political pot regularly in the Trump era. But in speaking with our Tim Kawakami last week, he took a step back from a hard line “We wouldn’t go.”

“I do think it’s very important to consider a potential invitation because I think it could have very positive ramifications if we did go,” Kerr said on the TK show.

A spokesman said: “CREDO will be escalating its campaign in the coming days and weeks in light of Kerr’s remarks.”
