Last week, tension between the U.S. and Mexico rose after a meeting was canceled between the nations’ leaders and President Trump raised the possibility of imposing a 20 percent tariff on all items imported from Mexico.

U.S. relations with Mexico entail much more than commercial trade and extend to cultural and educational ties. For instance, 1 million U.S. citizens live in Mexico and more than 20 million Americans visited in 2013, making it our top destination for travelers. Additionally, 14 million tourists from Mexico visited the U.S. and spent an estimated $10.5 billion.
