NEW ORLEANS — For a team that prides itself on ball movement and a balanced offense, the Warriors might want to reconsider changing their philosophy entirely.

Perhaps Warriors coach Steve Kerr might consider instructing his players to give the ball to Klay Thompson and get out of his way. After all, the Warriors’ guard pledged to donate $1,000 per point he scores in the team’s next three home games to North Bay fire relief. That will start next week when the Warriors host the Toronto Raptors (Oct. 25), Washington Wizards (Oct. 27) and Detroit Pistons (Oct. 29).

As he stated in an announcement he posted on Twitter on Friday afternoon, Thompson will donate to the Redwood Union Credit’s fire relief efforts. He encouraged fans to do the same.

The Warriors were also among the Bay Area sports teams to donate a collective $450,000 to support North Bay fire relief efforts.
