Junior forward Reid Travis had the most productive game of his collegiate career to help Stanford sweep its season series with the Washington Huskies.

Travis scored a career-high 33 points, with 23 coming in the first half, to lead the Cardinal past Washington 94-78 on Thursday night at Maples Pavilion.

Senior guard Dorian Pickens added 20 points, connecting on five 3-pointers, to help Stanford (15-13, 9-6 Pac-12) to its fourth win in six games this month and keep its hopes alive for a first-round bye in the conference tournament.

Travis connected on 11 of 17 field goals and hit 11 of 17 free throws to go with his nine rebounds.

Travis’ previous career-best was 29 points, a mark he’s reached three times with Stanford, most recently Jan. 7 against USC. Travis had 16 points when the Cardinal beat the Huskies in Seattle 73-64 on Jan. 13.

The win moved the Cardinal one game ahead of Washington in the Pac-12 standings. Stanford is now a half-game back of Utah for fourth place in the conference. The Utes topped UCLA 84-78 to improve to 10-6 in the Pac-12.

The top four teams receive a first-round bye in the conference tournament in Las Vegas from March 7-10. Stanford hosts Washington State on Saturday, then closes the regular season with games at No. 14 Arizona on March 1 and Arizona State two days later.

Stanford held a 48-26 lead at intermission, but Washington (18-10, 8-7) made things more interesting for a few moments in the second half, narrowing the Cardinal’s lead to 67-55 after two free throws from Noah Dickerson. That was followed, though, by a 7-0 Stanford run, led by five points from Oscar Da Silva.

Washington, which has now lost four of its last five games, was led by freshman guard Jaylen Nowell’s 18 points.
