FREMONT — The public is invited to learn about the environment while having fun at the city’s Earth Day party Saturday.

The event, co-sponsored by Washington Township Hospital and Fremont Environmental Services, will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The free celebration will feature games, a bicycle rodeo, children’s arts and crafts and a bike giveaway. Educational booths will give visitors information about local environmental initiatives.

Also, city leaders will discuss Fremont’s participation as a semifinalist in the Georgetown University Energy Prize, a national contest offering $5 million to the city that most reduces its use of energy.

The Earth Day party will be held in the main auditorium at the hospital’s Washington West Building, at 2500 Mowry Ave.
