SAN JOSE — A woman who was brutally stabbed along with another man by a group of men at a fast-food restaurant Tuesday has died from her injuries, and investigators have made multiple arrests since the attack, according to San Jose police.

The woman, whose identity was not immediately released, died Friday at a local hospital, police spokesman Sgt. Enrique Garcia said. Her companion, described only as a male adult, remains in critical condition following the mob attack at a Carl’s Jr. at White and Quimby roads in East San Jose.

According to police, the man and woman were attacked by several men at the restaurant around 6:10 p.m. The assailants drove off in a vehicle.

One witness account given to this newspaper described the suspects as a group of young men wearing Dallas Cowboy beanies and driving a gray Honda.

Garcia said arrests have been made, but declined to provide further details, citing the sensitivity of the investigation.

The killing is considered the 29th homicide of 2015 because the event that caused the woman’s death occurred in that year, which saw violent crime rise 6 percent compared to 2014.
